Terms & Conditions
Last updated 24 October 2026
1. Who we are
JOL (the website www.letsjol.app and the JOL mobile app) is operated by Cape Fynbos Talents (Pty) Ltd, a private company registered in South Africa (registration number 2026/847195/07), with its registered address at 15 The Avenue Road, Woodstock, Western Cape, 7925, South Africa. In these terms, "JOL", "we" and "us" mean Cape Fynbos Talents (Pty) Ltd.
By creating an account, buying a ticket or making a reservation on JOL, you agree to these terms. Questions? Email support@letsjol.app.
2. Age requirement
18+ only. Valid ID may be required at the door.
JOL is for people aged 18 and over. You must be 18 or older to create an account, buy a ticket or make a reservation. Venues serve alcohol and may ask for a valid ID (SA ID, driver's licence or passport) at the door. If you can't show valid ID or don't meet the venue's age requirement, the venue may refuse entry and your ticket will not be refunded.
3. What JOL does
JOL lists nightlife venues and events in Cape Town and lets you reserve entry or buy tickets for them. Events are run by the venue or organiser listed on the event page (the "organiser"), who is responsible for the event itself: the line-up, opening times, door policy, safety and service on the night.
When you buy a ticket online, you pay JOL. JOL collects the payment on behalf of the organiser, issues your ticket, and later pays the organiser their share. JOL is responsible for processing your payment, issuing your ticket and handling refunds under our Refund Policy.
4. Prices and payment
• All prices are in South African rand (ZAR) and are set by the organiser.
• When you pay online, JOL adds a service fee of 4% of the order plus R2. It covers secure card processing and running the platform. You see the ticket or table price, the service fee and the total before you pay, and the total on the checkout button is the full amount charged.
• The service fee is non-refundable, except when the venue or organiser cancels the event (see the Refund Policy).
• Card payments are processed by Paystack. JOL never sees or stores your full card details.
• "Pay at the door" reservations hold a spot only. Nothing is charged through JOL, and you pay the venue directly on arrival.
5. Your ticket
• Each ticket has a unique QR code that admits the number of people shown on it, once.
• Keep your QR code private. The first scan at the door is the one that counts, so a copied or shared code may leave you unable to enter.
• Tickets may not be resold for profit or copied.
• Venues keep the right of admission and may refuse entry or remove guests for unsafe or abusive behaviour, intoxication, or not following the dress code or house rules.
6. VIP tables
Some venues sell VIP table packages, for example a table with entry for a set number of people and a drinks credit. The package, the night and what's included are shown before you pay. A table is paid in full upfront and the price is per table, not per person.
• One QR code admits your whole group, up to the number of people included.
• A drinks credit can only be used at that venue on the booked night. It has no cash value and unused credit is not refunded.
• While you complete payment, the table is held for you for 15 minutes. If payment arrives after the table has been taken, you are refunded in full automatically.
7. Cancellations and refunds
If an event is cancelled, you get a full refund. Postponed or changed events, and how to ask for a refund, are covered in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these terms.
8. Your account
Keep your login details safe and the information on your account accurate. Don't impersonate anyone, scrape the app, or try to disrupt it for other users. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. You can delete your account at any time from your profile.
9. Venues and organisers
Venues and organisers are responsible for keeping their listings, prices and event details accurate. Organisers are paid their share of online ticket and table sales after the event, less JOL's platform commission, as agreed with them separately.
10. Liability
We work hard to keep JOL accurate and available, but we can't guarantee it will always be error-free. JOL is not responsible for what happens at a venue or event, or for losses beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or other South African law that can't legally be excluded.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
12. Changes
We may update these terms as JOL evolves. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Tickets already bought stay under the terms that applied when you bought them.
